Codman Hill Farm, Boxboro
|
There was a period of time when
I was an avid cyclist and spent most free time with
bike club pals exploring rural roads. That was my
first thrilling discovery that not all of Massachusetts
was densely populated and that open spaces and roads
canopied by branches still existed. I took a photo
of this scene with a tiny camera on one of those rides,
years later to be inspired to do this painting. I
had rare reason to be in the area where it was taken
the very morning after I completed the painting, and
was shocked and delighted to happen upon the very
same scene again, quite a coincidence! How it had
changed!
