Gloucester Harbor
|
A scene overlooking Gloucester
Harbor and town rooftops, in blues, pinks and yellows.
This is a personal favorite, and hard won. Wow!, how
windy and cold it was on that exposed hill. I was
excited enough by the beautiful scene and the great
early-morning light, though, so that it was a great
painting experience. My normally sturdy easel very
inexplicably suddenly collapsed in the midst of doing
this painting, making for quite a mess of paint and
solvent spattered about. My local artist friend explained
that this hill is known to be haunted. Considering
my easel hasn't acted like that before or since, perhaps
it's true!
